Young stars from Born To Perform join Gone Too Soon!

We are thrilled to learn that 7 rising young stars from the Born To Perform platform who will join the frontline singers of Gone Too Soon as their Backing Vocalists, after their incredible success as part of Born To Perform 2018 SHINE!  show held earlier in September.

The anticipation is building for when GONE TOO SOON takes to the stage at The Lyric at Gold Reef City in a few weeks, where the show will pay tribute to lost music legends who come alive again through their greatest hits.

Gone Too Soon is being staged in loving memory of two South African legends Matthew Stewardson and Gugu Zulu.

Gone Too Soon is a fabulous tribute to the music legends we all loved, who died way before their time, but live on through their timeless music. The show will delight audiences old and young as they celebrate the powerhouse singers that became legends through their music over the past few decades.

The seven Born To Perform artists who will now also be part of the Gone Too Soon cast are Marianthe Panas, John Tsenoli, Zinah Rose, Yahto Kraft, Rachel Games, Siyolise Mkondweni and Tylo Venter.

Meet the amazing Born To Perform stars who will be performing in Gone Too Soon:

Marianthe Panas (17)

Marianthe joined the Born To Perform platform in the first show in 2015 where she was the show-stopping performance. In this year’s production she sang with Paxton, the Idols winner. In her young career, she has performed in various corporate events including EOH with Richard Stirton, Thembeka Mnguni and Jonathan Roxmouth and also featured in The CoLab Network’s Supreme Divas at Joburg Theatre. She was a finalist in SA’s Got Talent and sang her original song with the Johannesburg Youth Orchestra in A Night With The Stars. Marianthe looks so forward to another opportunity to learn and grow in the professional entertainment scene.

John Tsenoli (20)

John Tsenoli was offered a bursary for Stageworx Performing Arts School after performing in Born To Perform 2016. Whilst concentrating on his training he has set up a duo called BORN FREE and released their first single as well as working as a solo artist on his own original material. John was one of the highlights of Born To Perform 2018 with his original song Long Road receiving spontaneous standing ovations from the audiences.

Zinah Rose (22)

Zinah was the standout MC for Born To Perform 2018. As well as an established presenter, Zinah is also an accomplished vocalist. Zinah has toured Europe with The Whitney Houston Show as Backing Vocalist and also the Abba Show at Silverstar Casino. This year she released her original single “Fever”. Zinah is looking forward to furthering herself as a performer, presenter and vocalist and is excited to be working on Gone To Soon.

Siyolise Mkondweni (20)

Siyo has had the privilege of performing with Timothy Moloi in the first A Night With The Stars with the Johannesburg Youth Orchestra. Siyo also had the incredible opportunity to perform at Nic Fest in front of 4000 people with the teen group The Buzz. Since then she has been furthering her training in dance, singing and acting at Stageworx School Of Performing Arts as well as looking at new ways to express herself through the form of songwriting. Siyo also had the amazing opportunity to sing with John Tsenoli at the African Nations event and is excited tobe sharing the stage with her Born To Perform family again.

Yahto Kraft (17)

Yahto performed his original song UGLY in Born To Perform 2018, where he discussed the issues of not fitting within the normal expectations of society. With a huge range and incredible voice, this versatile performer wants to make a difference with his talents. Yahto is also a talented costume designer and was responsible for designing and making a number of the costumes in Born To Perform 2018. His original song UGLY is expected to start a movement throughout the teen circles with accepting and appreciating each other’s differences.

Rachel Games (15)

A committed and hard working teenager, Rachel manages her training as a performer with her school work and commitments. Rachel was also a stand out performer in Born To Perform 2018 where as well as her solo performance in the bubblegum medley and she unexpectedly had totake the reins of a lead in Can’t Stop The Feeling after the lead vocalist fell sick. Rachel has performed in A Night With The Stars with The Johannesburg Youth Orchestra and taken part in many BV recordings for SA Artists. She has also performed on The Voice with Richard Stirton as Backing Vocalist and with Gemma Marinus in a wedding event. Rachel is currently working towards her ATCL through Trinity College London in Musical Theatre.

Tylo Venter (15)

Tylo Venter blew everyone away with her rendition of Purple Rain with The Voice Winner, Craig Lucas in Born To Perform 2018. Tylo has from an early age threw herself into her passion for singing and has had the opportunity to perform with many local artists including Belinda Davids, Cito and Richard Stirton where she accompanied him as a backing vocalist for The Voice SA and in a concert with the Johannesburg Youth Orchestra. Tylo has recently secured her first professional performance in My Little Pony.
